Comparison of different types of self-healing concrete under extreme conditions

چکیده
Extreme environments are aggressive for concrete structures, hence a performance-based design is crucial to guarantee the durability during service life. Nonetheless, there knowledge gap regarding influence of cracks on standard and self-healing concrete. This research focuses monitoring cracked with two commercial healing agents: bacteria-based agent (BAS) crystalline admixture (CA). After crack formation process three months in wet/dry conditions (4 days/3 days), several extreme were considered: (1) submerged artificial seawater, (2) solution 33 g/L sodium chloride (3) freeze-thaw (FT) cycling de-icing salts. Microscopic images used quantify efficiency different agents, while ingress scaling measured determine durability. The results microscopic measurements indicated significant both agents after regime reaching 72% CA, 67% BAS. exposure marine environment, this increased 95% 92%, respectively. uncracked BAS samples achieved reduction 93% under FT relative REF samples, was 49% CA samples. In reduced by 50% 24% all tested conditions, partially prevented through crack, showed great reduction. Overall, degradation could decrease ingress.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Modeling of Self-Healing Concrete: A Review
Self-healing concrete (SHC) has received a tremendous attention due to its advanced ability of automatic crack detection and crack repairing compared to the standard concrete. Two main approaches which considered as to-date self-healing mechanisms are autogenous and autonomous healing. In the past several years, the effort of the research has been focused on experimental works instead of numeri...
متن کاملSelf-Healing Characteristics of Damaged Rock Salt under Different Healing Conditions
Salt deposits are commonly regarded as ideal hosts for geologic energy reservoirs. Underground cavern construction-induced damage in salt is reduced by self-healing. Thus, studying the influencing factors on such healing processes is important. This research uses ultrasonic technology to monitor the longitudinal wave velocity variations of stress-damaged rock salts during self-recovery experime...

Introduction: The image quality as well as film speed is influenced by the film processing conditions. Different combinations of films and processing methods affect the diagnostic accu-racy. Temperature and developer exhaustion result in different image quality. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of film type and processing conditions on caries detec-tion. متن کاملModel Based Design of Self-healing Expandable Coatings under Different Environmental Conditions
A long-lasting barrier protection at damaged sites of coated system can be achieved by means of an active response of the primer. This may be attained through the release of reactive liquids from dispersed containers, the increase of the local mobility of the polymeric network, or the expansion of (dispersed elements in) the primer [1]. Such self-healing mechanisms provide an excellent strategy...
